This Digital Compass Module allows you integrate a Compass functionality in your next project. It is built on the strengths of the HMC5883L Integrated Circuit by . It is highly accurate and is capable of producing compass heading readings in all axis. A microcontroller is required to use this device. The I2C digital Interface allows for easy access to the chip’s compass data through a microcontroller. Most microcontrollers have a hardware I2C interface so this shouldn’t be a problem. Although Bit Banging (software ) I2C is also possible in cases where your microcontroller of choice does not have an integrated the I2C hardware.
